Hi, I am Kareem Elawar. I am a game designer currently pursuing a major in Games & Interactive Media at Michigan State University (MSU).

Since I began at MSU I have been afforded many opportunities to grow in this field. Working with both Spartasoft and Spartasoft Studio I have made multiple games that have helped me find my discipline, refine it, and learn interdisciplinary knowledge.

In my time working with games I have taken up leadership positions, working as the current vice president of Spartasoft Studio. I have also started a volunteering program bringing game making classes to local elementary and secondary schools.

Games have always been an impactful activity for me. From board game nights over the pandemic to online games with my family halfway across the world, they have been so much more than entertainment.

I enjoy playing games like Middle Earth: Shadow of War, Baldur’s Gate 3, Risk of Rain 2, and various Tabletop Role-Playing games. However, outside of games I enjoy traveling, TV shows, and hanging out with friends.
